It depends on the installation location — if installed on the owner's property (within a fence or on the wall of a private building), no permit is needed. However, if installed on a sidewalk, lamppost, tree, or public area, you must obtain a permit from the municipality or the BMA's traffic department. For signs taller than 6 meters or larger than 2 sq.m., some areas require permits from the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning. We can help with documentation and submission.
Rule of thumb: Letter height (cm) = Viewing distance (meters) ÷ 2 — For 20m distance, use 10cm letters / For 50m distance, use 25cm letters / For 100m distance, use 50cm letters.
